Every installation completed by Armoured Films is backed by two distinct layers of warranty protection: a lifetime manufacturer warranty on the film material itself, and a 5-year installation warranty covering the quality of our workmanship. This document explains what each warranty covers, what it does not cover, and how to initiate a claim.

The manufacturer warranty is issued by the respective film manufacturer and covers material defects in the film itself. It is transferable to subsequent vehicle owners for the life of the original installation.

What the Manufacturer Warranty Covers

  • Discolouration or colour change resulting from manufacturing defects in the film material
  • Bubbling arising from a failure of the film's adhesive layer due to manufacturing defects (as distinct from installation-related bubbling)
  • Delamination of film layers attributable to manufacturing defects
  • Failure of the film's scratch-resistant topcoat that is attributable to a manufacturing defect

Claim Process for Manufacturer Warranty

You do not need to contact the manufacturer directly. Contact Armoured Films first at contact@armouredfilms.ca or 587-885-4192. We will arrange an inspection to assess the issue, and if the defect falls within manufacturer warranty scope, we will coordinate the manufacturer claim on your behalf and manage the resolution process.

Part 2: 5-Year Installation Warranty

In addition to the manufacturer warranty, Armoured Films provides a 5-year installation warranty on all automotive window tint installations. This warranty covers defects caused by our installation workmanship, not the film material itself.

What Is Covered

  • Bubbling or lifting at window edges caused by installation technique
  • Peeling of film from glass surface due to adhesion failure
  • Delamination of film layers caused by installation defects
  • Edge lifting attributable to improper squeegee technique or inadequate adhesive activation

What Is Not Covered

  • Physical damage including rock chips, scratches, cuts, or impacts from external objects
  • Damage caused by use of ammonia-based cleaning products (including Windex and similar)
  • Rolling down windows within 5 days of tint installation
  • Damage caused by brush-type automated car washes
  • Improper cleaning using abrasive pads, squeegees, or rough cloths
  • Damage resulting from window seal failure or door mechanism malfunction
  • Normal weathering, minor hazing, or wear occurring after the warranty period
  • Pre-existing damage present at the time of installation
  • Damage caused by accident, misuse, or modification of the vehicle or window

Important: The 5-Day Window Rule

Rolling down tinted windows within 5 days of installation will void the installation warranty for the affected windows. The adhesive requires a minimum of 5 days to achieve full cure strength. Window operation before this cure period is complete drags the film edges against the window seal, causing lifting that cannot be covered under warranty.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

  1. Contact Armoured Films at contact@armouredfilms.ca or 587-885-4192 with your name, booking confirmation number, and a description of the issue.
  2. We will arrange an inspection — in most cases, we can assess using photos provided by the client before scheduling a physical inspection.
  3. If the issue falls within the warranty scope, we will schedule a remediation appointment at no charge. Valet service is included for warranty repairs within the service area.
  4. If the issue does not fall within warranty scope (for example, damage caused by car wash brushes or ammonia cleaners), we will provide a quote for repair at standard rates.
